These initiatives have great benefits to both prisoners and the establishment. Empowering a prisoner to make choices and take control of his own purchasing needs reduces the staff needed to resource the shop and finance wing.

Having In-Cell Phones also results in a reduction in staff workload enabling staff to spend their time monitoring and developing other initiatives advantageous to the prisoner and the establishment.

In-Cell I.T. is critical in developing the prisoner as an individual and provides and invaluable link to the Strategic Reducing Re-offending Pathway. By enabling a prisoner to further his education we are giving him the tools to achieve the targets set within his sentence plan and thus reducing his chance of reoffending after release.
