Education

The Education Department of HMP Lowdham Grange is fully committed to the provision of quality education programmes designed to meet the needs of prisoners with due consideration to equal opportunities, decency, diversity and the four HMCIP key targets.

We aim to deliver a quality educational service as part of the seamless sentence plan concept through a process of initial assessment and delivery of the Core Curriculum. A wide range of other educational and vocational training opportunities are available including distance learning, NVQs, construction, catering, plumbing, electrical installation, industrial cleaning, computer building and repair and painting and decorating programmes.

During their time with Lowdham Grange we foster a prisoner's learning to ensure they have the necessary skills, confidence and of course records of achievements to actively seek employment upon release.

Education

Vocational Training forms a critical part of our offering in terms of allowing prisoners to develop relevant skills which will be recognised by potential employers.
