Visits are a much valued part of life at Lowdham Grange so it is important that you can easily find us. There are a number of ways to reach us.
The prison is located about 9 miles northeast of Nottingham city centre on the A6097 Doncaster to Leicester Road, about 2 miles north of Lowdham village. It is signposted off the A6097. We have a large visitors car park with disabled parking located adjacent to the Visitors Centre.

A bus visit to Lowdam is equally straightforward. Take the 101/201 from Nottingham Victoria Centre to Magna Carta public house in Lowdham village. From there a taxi to the prison will cost about £6 to £8.
Trains also make a connection for visitors to Lowdham, although they are less frequent. Take the main line to Nottingham and then catch the local rail service between Nottingham and Lowdham village. From there a taxi to the prison will cost about £6 to £8.

We welcome visitors at Lowdham Grange and want to help make your visit as straightforward and enjoyable as possible. In order to do that we have put together some information that may help you make the most of your visit.
Social visiting hours run from 13.30 - 16.30 on Monday to Friday, and 10.00 - 17.00 at the weekend.
Midweek social visits can only be booked by prisoner application but weekend booking can be booked through our booking line on 0115 966 9321.
The hours for official visits run from 9.30 - 11.45 and 13.30 - 16.30 Monday to Friday. These can be booked through the booking line on 0115 966 9321.
There is a small Visitor Centre outside the Gate and some refreshment facilities are available in the Visits Hall. In order to keep our environment healthy we do operate a no smoking policy at all times during visits. We provide disabled access to the Visits Hall.
