Enabling prisoners to mirror every day life is a main aim of ours and our residential units reflect this by offering facilities such as Laundry, Food Services and the ability to order shopping.
Become part of our Healthcare department and you could be organizing routine clinics to provide the following services; dental, physiotherapy, Podiatry, Opticians, GUM. We also have access to Hepatitis, Wound management and Tuberculosis specialists. Or you could become one of our nurses responding to all alerts within the prison, providing expert medical care to prisoners and staff.
Are you a specialist construction, catering, plumbing, electrical installation, industrial cleaning, computer building and repair and painting and decorating?
If so you could join our team, supplying a wide range of educational and vocational training opportunities distance learning programmes and NVQs.
Here at Lowdham Grange we have 5 fully configured operational workshops and a warehouse ready and waiting to dispatch goods and materials. Our workshops boast a solid infrastructure of management support, operational staff and a Logistics Coordinator. You could become part of this team helping our extensive and diverse workforce fulfill their potential.
Working in the Psychology Department involves encouraging prisoners to address their offending behavior through completing an Accredited Offending Behavior Programme which focuses on improving an individual’s thinking skills in order to enhance pro-social behavior and address anger and other emotions in order to explore skills to avoid and control negative emotions. In addition, we offer individual offence focused intervention work, such as Anger Management, stress management, anxiety etc.
As part of the Offender Management Unit (OMU) you would be working closely with the Offender Manager (probation services) to ensure that an integrated and consistent approach to the OASys assessment, sentence planning and intervention across both custodial and community elements of a prisoners sentence is delivered.
If you became part of the Public Protection Unit you would have to identify potentially dangerous offenders, then ensure that appropriate action is taken whilst in custody to reduce the risk of serious harm posed by such individuals. The role also makes sure prisoners under the remit of public protection go through controlled release back into the community.
In the Resettlement Unit we assist prisoners in preparation for their release with courses in CV writing, money management and maintaining family ties.
