Being a Story Time Dad gives more to a prisoner than a knowledge of new childrens stories. It provides an invaluable link to the very people a prisoner can feel he has let down the most; his children.

By becoming involved in the Story Time Dads programme a prisoner goes a long way to helping build a bridge with his children at home. Strengthening this bond increases the sense of accountability for his actions and goes a long way to helping a prisoner make the right decisions that will keep him out of prison after his release.

Prisoners can also use the programme as the foundation from which to gain a qualification in English giving them vital skills to aid their resettlement upon release.

HMP Lowdham Grange have worked with the Butler Trust to develop this powerful initiative and it is intrumental in achieving the targets set down by the National Offender Management Service (NOMS).
