Zero Tolerance Information

HMP Lowdham Grange has a Zero Tolerance policy on smuggling. We have put a lot of work into ensuring that we can and do catch anyone attempting to smuggle contraband into our prison.

Whilst you wait in reception have a look at the DVD we are playing.

'Consequences' Stars Cath who said 'No' to a request to smuggle drugs into prison, which was a good choice because that would have led her to up to 10 years in prison and an unlimited fine.

Unfortunately she agreed to smuggling a sim card and got 2 years sentence and an unlimited fine for her troubles…

Don't do it, we will catch you.

Prohibited items

These are items or articles that must not enter the prison.

• Explosives
• Imitation and Toy Firearms
• Alcohol
• Wax
• Wire
• Metal Cutlery (except Administration Building)
• Weapons
• Controlled Drugs (as apposed to prescribed medication or proprietary medication)
• Chewing Gum (with the exception of anti-smoking gum)
• Pirated Copyright DVDs and CDs.

Controlled items

These are items or articles that must be carefully monitored when in the prison.

• Matches
• Yeast
• Clingfilm
• Aerosols
• Rope
• Umbrellas
• Vinegar
• Skips
• Ladders
• Solvents
• Bleach
• Glass
• Syringes
• Cameras
• Glue
• Tin Foil
• Videos, CDs and DVDs
• Mobile Phones (and similar communication devices – only on the authority of the Director)
